Email Cloaker
Email Cloaker Updates
Saturday, April 17, 2004
There are two changes for Email Cloaker, one in the service itself and the other on the site.
The change in the service is pretty minor, but it will help our affiliates sign up additional users. When a person clicks on your cloaked address, the page that comes up has a blurb at the top telling them that the address was decloaked and invites them to get their own, free cloaked address from Email Cloaker by clicking on a link.
Now that link will be your affiliate link. If you are an affiliate, you should log in at http://www.emailcloaker.com to change your user settings and update your affiliate ID. Once done, just using your cloaked address can result in commissions from Premium upgrades.
Besides your affiliate ID, your user settings control your real address, password, and getting these updates, and, for Premium users, your personal cloaked address and featured web page.
If you're not an affiliate, well, why not? Go to http://www.emailcloaker.com and click on the "Affiliates" link to sign up!
The site change is the addition of an Updates section, where these updates will be available for users who don't get them by email. Just click the "Updates" link on the site to keep up-to-date with Email Cloaker.

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It was for me, and the well wishes I got from some of you were heart-warming.
We've made some changes at EmailCloaker.com that you should know about. First is the way that you log in to change your user settings, like the email address that your cloaked address points to. One user pointed out to me that if you forget your ID, it's impossible to log in. (Of course, you can retrieve your password easily!) Good point!
Now, instead of using your ID to log in, you will use your real email address to identify your account. I'm pretty sure that you'll not forget your real email address! If you do forget your cloaked address, however, just log in and grab it.
The second change that we made was adding the requirement for each email address to be validated before a cloaked address was made available. This will eliminate the false addresses and user errors that were occurring, as well as allow us to avoid having email addresses added to the database against the owner's will.
Now, when you submit an email address for cloaking, the system will attempt to confirm that address as valid and will also send a validation message to that address. You will need to click the link within that message to confirm your email address and activate your cloaked address.
Lastly, the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page has been updated. Please let us know if you have any questions that aren't addressed there.

We've opened the affiliate program for EmailCloaker.com and now you can earn 30% on every paid user that you refer. At our anticipated price of $15 per year for a premium cloaked address, that means you'll earn $4.50 for each referral.
Now, many of your referrals will start out with the free cloaked address. That's okay! We took a little extra time putting together the affiliate program because we wanted to ensure that even if the referral does start out free, you will get the commission when they upgrade. Hey, people like free! You get them to sign up, we'll work to get them to upgrade.
(Remember, an upgrade to a premium cloaked address lets you personalize the address and advertise your website every time it's used.)
Besides the 30% on your personal referrals, you'll earn 10% on the upgrades of each affiliate you refer. That's $1.50 for each sale and renewal your affiliate referrals make.
What are you waiting for? Head on over to http://www.emailcloaker.com and click the "Affiliates" link, then the "Signup" link to get started making money today!
BTW, my friend, Eva Rosenberg -- affectionately known as "TaxMama," -- asked me to let you know about her new e-book, "TaxMama's Secrets: Ten Businesses to Start Online Without Investing One Thin Dime." Check it out at: http://www.emailcloaker.com/ht/secrets/ecupd/.
Here's a special offer: if you purchase a copy of "Secrets" through this link and become an affiliate, we'll upgrade your cloaked address to premium for one year. Just write back with a copy of your receipt and we'll handle the upgrade.
That's all — have a great week!

This is just a brief update to let you know that the Users' Account area of Email Cloaker has now been implemented. When you log in, using the ID and password you were sent when you signed up, you will be able to
Coming soon will actually be those paid user features. You've already seen the personalized cloaked address in action with http://emailcloaker.com/support and http://emailcloaker.com/tryit — soon you'll be able to get your own!
You may have noticed when you click on your Email Cloaker cloaked address that the resulting page tells you that the address was decloaked. Paid users will be able to feature here any web page they desire. This means that any time someone clicks on your cloaked adress, whether the standard address or the personalized address, your company, product, service, or opportunity can be presented to them!
I'll let you know when these features are available.
Also in the works is an affiliate program that will pay you for each paid user of Email Cloaker that you refer. I know this is the part that excites you most! Be patient: I want to get this right the first time, so I'm taking a little extra time up front.
BTW, let me also let you know about a tool that I use — for almost two years, now — to not only cloak my affiliate links, but also track all of the clicks, actions, and sales that result from prospects clicking on the links: http://emailcloaker.com/ht/tracker/ecupd/ . Try it out for free for 14 days and let me know what you think about it.
That's all — have a great week!
