Email Cloaker
Frequently Asked Questions
- My email address is displayed when someone clicks on my cloaked address. I thought Email Cloaker was supposed to protect it?
- Exactly! Email Cloaker protects your email address from spambots, but decloaks your address when someone clicks on the link. When your email address is decloaked, a new email message is addressed to you with the user's email program. (User Vickie R. was rewarded with a free upgrade to Email Cloaker Premium.)
- I've lost my ID! How do I find the cloaked address linked to my real address?
- Good question! And thanks for pointing out that using an ID to login is just dumb. Now you can log in using your email address and find your cloaked address -- without needing to remember your ID. (User Merle was rewarded with a free upgrade to Email Cloaker Premium.)
- Will my links work if EmailCloaker.com goes down?
- No, just like any other web-based service -- for example, TinyURL and SnipURL, both web address-shortening services -- if EmailCloaker.com is unreachable, your links will stop working.
The real question is, "How reliable is EmailCloaker.com?" The site has been up since August 21, 2003 and, since we began keeping statistics on December 20, 2003, has been up 99.9562%, with a weekly average connect time of 0.20 seconds. (Statistics provided by InternetSeer.)
